The very close active experience of nature

Using more than 700 km of hiking and 300 km of bridle paths you can experience a landscape owning a special character with its half-open heathlands. Visiting the area on the marked trails is possible on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by carriage waiting for visitors at the parking lots. To protect the landscape and the wildlife a vehicle ban applies to private cars.

The extent and tranquility of the countryside invites to reflection and relaxation. No wonder that the Lüneburg Heath is known better then the Land of Lower Saxony - it is a unique landscape.

Hiking in the Lüneburg Heath

The most beautiful locations of the 230 square kilometer - car free - nature reserve Lüneburg Heath are right on our doorstep. The clear fresh air, the silence and the beauty of heathland contribute to the rest and  the relaxation of our guests. We provide maps for your tours around the area at the reception.

Long distant trail "Heidschnuckenweg"

The Top Trail "Heidschnuckenweg" has its stopping point No. 4 in Niederhaverbeck (Spend a night in our Landhaus Haverbeckhof) and leads to Route 5a from Niederhaverbeck via Schneverdingen to Bispingen directly passing by the hotel front door on the farm Tütsberg - ideal for strengthening on your way or for an intermediate stages destination.

Accessible trail in Niederhaverbeck

In the valley of Haverbeeke you can circle the heath barrier free on 1.4 km or 3.5 km . At a distance of 200 m you find halting places to rest and information on flora and fauna.

Experience the Lüneburg heath by driving

The audited quality coachman ("Qualitätskutscher") will show you the most beautiful places in the nature reserve. Tours are offered from just one hour up to a day tour. This experience you will remember for a long time. Enjoy off-highway contemplative hours. 

The regularly maintained and TÜV certified coaches are waiting for you on the large parking lots of Nieder- and Oberhaverbeck, Undeloh and Döhle. You will get to know the beautiful landscape around the Wilseder Berg. In the Lüneburg Heath, your trip will be an unforgettable memory. Folding roof and translucent side panels make the tour regardless of the weather.

Paradise for riders: around 300 km bridle paths lead through the nature reserve

Flying over marshes, moors and heathlands in full gallop, trot over mossy soft floors and ride through picturesque flood plains - a ride through the Lüneburg Heath could look like this. It is no coincidence that Lower Saxony has the horse in the coat of arms and the Hanoverian breeding the most successful in the world.

Exibitions and museums of the VNP in the nature reserve  Lüneburg Heath

The "Bee Worlds" exhibition in the Nature Info House Niederhaverbeck. Situated opposite the Landhaus Haverbeckhof. Admission free.

The Heide Museum "Dat ole Huus" in Wilsede. A visit of this old Heath village is a must for every visitor. Wilseder Berg, Totengrund and Steingrund are not far away.
